Project under way

So I made a real blog. The posting method on a plain old webpage was getting too long and cumbersome. I wanted to have archives & such. You can still view everything in the confines of the craft pages or you can click here to have blog-only. Works either way.

So anyway…

I’m fairly far along on my first real project — the Baby Z scarf. It’s out of the pink yarn and it’s a k2p2 20row scarf. She could use one, as her neck is often exposed even when she’s bundled up to the best of our ability. I can only knit for short periods of time b/c she needs attention or I have other “must do” things.

My edges are much better than they were in the raggedy patch images. Obviously I was practicing the stitching itself. Edging wasn’t even a concern. My edges on the Pink Baby Z Scarf aren’t bad. I just read a trick in the book tonight for edges so I’m four passes into the trick. Looks to be working so far.

I’ve had a couple of mistakes but I’ve been able to fix them. Now that I have a better visual of what I’m doing, I can see what I’ve just knit/purled and which little loop used to be on the needle so I can go back. I also somehow had an extra stitch on there and following the k2p2 pattern, I managed to see where I’d added the stitch and I got rid of it. I’ll probably be able to fix it better once the piece is finished.
