All-PiggyHawk 100 Movies!
After almost 24 hours of debate and deliberation, Hawk & I devised 100 movies that we love. Some you may never have heard of. Some are just odd little things that we may be the only ones in the world who like them. Some are glaringly obvious.
Many are not technically brilliant or “classic” but we find them all entertaining. The main criterion was this question: “If I were flipping around the guide and I saw that this movie was on, I would stop seeing what else is on and watch it.” Therefore certain films that we like (Mildred Pierce, A Beautiful Mind, Stripes, etc.) did not make the cut and others (Trading Places, Groundhog Day) did.
Movies with a year after them generally means that there’s another movie from another year with that title and they’re not to be confused.
Also either (1) both of us had to have seen it all the way through and agreed it was cool or (2) one of us has seen it all the way through and said, “This has to go on the list.” That’s how our few silents made it on, I admit.
There are many cool movies we have never seen (Bonnie & Clyde, Chinatown, The French Connection) and therefore we couldn’t rank them. Rest assured these are on our Netflix list (and yes I’m peeved that they’re hitching their wagon to the Wal-Mart star. I bet I get edited movies now *snark*)
In response to Mudge who, like the American he is, demands that someone “win” the list, this was the order in which they sprang to mind. They’re not really ranked. But insofaras we agree on any movie being the be-all, end-all of all time for our collective viewing pleasure, our #1 is #1.
I also refuse to rank films in a series against one another or waste slots with 3-6 movies in a series. So #4, #5, #17, #18 and #77 count as a single entry. B/c it’s my list and I say so. So there.
If you make your own list, I’d love to see it. Feel free to comment on what we’ve missed. We worked for, oh, several minutes on this list so we’re sure we didn’t leave anything off. But we might have. We’re parenting a toddler. Our brains hurt.

My Goddess! I don’t believe I could even *THINK* of 100 movie titles. Did you use netflix as a guide?
And I agree with about 99% of your list (the rest I probably just haven’t seen yet).
