Z was very late getting up today (she had a nap yesterday) and I had a little overlap of H having a nap and her getting up. So I’m kind of in a mode of “I’m doing what I want” today. No Shrek, no Harry Potter, no Incredibles. I watched “Regis & Kelly” (w/ H, who liked Alanis Morrisette), “Ellen” and some of “Dr Phil” b/c it was on after “Ellen.” Then I got bored of Dr Phil and I found Austin Powers: IMoM is on Starz. Yay! Z was playing & didn’t care what was on TV but I knew she liked AP (maybe he reminds her of Shrek?). So I went to get my hair out of my face and while in the master bath, H stirred and decided a 45 minute nap was plenty. So I brought him out & put him down to play. Meanwhile Z had crawled up into a chair and was being a vegetable and watching AP.

So I thought “If she’s going to watch, let’s make the most of it,” as I do. So I put on the guide. She said, “Mommy. What you doing? Stop that.”

I said, “I’m finding you a better show.” And “Sesame Street” is on one of our PBS channels. I love having PBS options!

I flip over. It’s Grover.

Z: “Nooooooo!”

Me: “Do you want Austin Powers? You don’t want Sesame Street?”

Z: “Yes.” *crying*

I flip back to AP and the crying stops.

I can’t explain it except through genetics. But who doesn’t like Grover? Seriously. I bet if he spent six years in Evil Medical School, she’d watch.
