You’re Nader-Benjamin!
As Ralph Nader, you are a profound and prolific standard of non-conformism. You are
utterly unafraid, strong in your convictions, and unashamed of your actions. You have been
accused of being a bit egotistical and have an utterly dull social demeanor, but this should
not detract from your strengths as a fire-starter. You like creating groups and then discarding
them, as well as being a lone voice of reason in a horrifyingly bleak atmosphere. Above all,
you have a very clean nose.
You select Medea Benjamin as your running mate so she can make headlines by getting arrested.

I’m right there with you, Fredlet.
I got:
You’re Pelosi-Kerry!
As Nancy Pelosi, you stand as one of the only true and courageous people that anyone can name. Despite a haphazard reputation and unexpected rise to power, you could be one of the only legitimate hopes for your friends. You have been able to tell the truth about what is happening, and reflect a widely held but somewhat quiet set of beliefs. Recently, you have been bestowed with great resources by your power company. Your latent love for a military retiree is bound to get you in trouble.
You select John Kerry as your running mate because he’s a war hero, no matter what those nasty veterans say!

I think I got Nader b/c I said “fuck the automobile industry.” What can I say? I’ve seen “Roger & Me” a dozen or so times.
You want ‘em for pets or meat?

Have you seen “Who Killed the Electric Car?” yet?

I haven’t. It was recommended to us by Netflix. We still haven’t opened our copy of AIT yet. I just love to hold the packaging and dream of a day when all DVDs are minimally packaged.

Put “Who Killed the Electric Car?” in your queue. There was quite a bit of information in that movie that I was not aware of…but make sure you take your blood pressure medicine before you sit down to watch it.
Pissed me right the hell off.
Funny…we also haven’t opened our copy of AIT yet!

I wanted Clinton/Clinton!

I disagree with Fredlet and Emma. I blame the people who voted for W. I also think we should have more than just the Dems. vs the Reps. in every election. I don’t see that Nader “stole Gore’s votes”, because a vote isn’t Gore’s until someone places a vote in his name.
It’s easy to blame Nader, but not so easy to ask yourself why people voted for him instead of Gore. It wasn’t because of Monica, it was because Gore ran a piss-poor campaign. He didn’t even win his own home state!
BTW, I didn’t vote for W OR Nader.

Fredlet,
The lesser of two evils is still evil. ~ Ralph Nader
We need voter reform so that when we vote our conscience we are not (in effect) voting someone into office that we despise. We need to be able to cast our votes for 1st choice, 2nd choice and 3rd choice with a “none of the above” option. That way, we’d be assured that the person who becomes president is elected by a true majority.

“Gore = Bush” was a pretty common Green slogan in 2000. That was when I lost all respect for the Green Party.
I don’t vote for the lesser of two evils. I vote for the best viable candidate.

I support the idea of “None of the above”, with a minimun percentage of the total vote required to win. That way, some jerk can’t become President with 20% of the vote because too many people voted “NOTA”.

Emma,
The Green Party is not responsible for spreading the lie that Gore=Bush. Rather, if you remember, it was the Democrats who effectively sold the lie: Nader = Bush. The Green Party steadfastly rejects that propaganda.
It was the slogan of fearful democrats, who then blamed Nader for being a “spoiler.” After being blamed for putting Bush into office, Nader explained that when you choose the lesser of two evils, you are still choosing evil. People did have another choice, but they were more fearful of putting an evil man into office.
Not everyone who voted for Gore felt they were voting for the lesser of two evils. You’re one of them. However, many people who voted truly felt they were voting for the lesser of two evils…the one who would do the least harm, believing that if they followed their conscience and voted for a third party candidate that their vote would be empower the other major party. That lie has become so powerful that it in effect ensures that we will forever have two choices. More and more people in our country believe that those two choices are bad and worse.

Emma says: “Gore = Bush” was a pretty common Green slogan in 2000. That was when I lost all respect for the Green Party.
Again, that was the Democrats’ slogan. Ironically, that was when many in the Green Party (former democrats) lost even more respect for the Democratic Party.
