Wikipedia game: Five Clicks to Jesus
Five Clicks to Jesus is, by far, the hippest “wiki-game” known to man.
Directions for Play:
- Go to Wikipedia
- Click “Random Article” (in the box under the big ol’ Wiki puzzle logo)
- Player has EXACTLY five (5) clicks to get from the random article to the article “Jesus” Doing it in fewer clicks = you lose
(A click constitutes as going from one page to another. If you click a link and it brings you further down the page, that is not a click.)
Ready. Set. Go!
I did it and won:
Tyrrellspass Castle
William I of England
Pope Leo IX
Easter
Jesus
I bet you could do this with Kevin Bacon as well. As you know Bob, I am great at the Kevin Bacon Game. Jesus, Kevin Bacon, what’s the difference?
ETA: HOW is this old post so popular? If you play and post answers here, let me know what brought you to this post (ex: a link, a search, etc.)

I did it again after posting this and here’s my result:
David Hentschel
All Things Must Pass
My Sweet Lord
John Lennon
Jesus
John Lennon! Whoa!
Isn’t it addicting??
And I’ve decided to stop going for the obvious (ex. if you get a city or country, don’t go for demographics…try something else).
As for Kevin Bacon and Jesus… I haven’t fig’rd out my six degrees of separation from him, but I did check out this new initiative that Bacon is involved with: http://www.sixdegrees.org
Here’s your six degrees: the brother of a friend of mine wrote a movie in which KB starred. There ya go.
I had to try it…LOL!
Here are my results.

I can’t believe how many hits this over-a-year-old page is getting.
So I did it again:
Intel
The Last Mimzy

British Sovereign

Divine Right of Kings

Jesus

Jesus
I’ve heard of this game before – I wonder how many fake hits “Jesus” is getting.
According to the number of hits I get on this old post, I image it’s quite an impressive figure.
Did it:
Side Burn
Carbon Fiber
January 14
December 25
Jesus
you can get jesus any time on a page with a year.
Example:
*Random Article with year*
2001
Gregorian Calendar
Jesus
works every time
Ronald S. Kraybill
Eastern Mennonite University
United Methodist Church
Jesus Christ
Dude, this is fabulous!
The trick to make it challenging is to forgo a “random article” that seems too simple (like a year). I think it’s most challenging to do it in exactly five clicks.
Random article: Zimbabwe Open University
–> Zimbabwe

And of course, it was only a matter of time…

Thank god. Maybe I won’t be the go-to for the game anymore. Nothing like a pagan getting people to five-click to Jesus.
Next thing you know, we’ll be 5-clicking to Sarah Palin.
Here is the site all about the “Wikipedia Game.”
Bring this discussion into the forum there, and e-mail me any adaptations of the game you may have.
Thanks,
John

Play the wikipedia game on wwwwikiaatacom
You really should try it in three clicks. Five is way too easy.
Example from a comment… “I often play and it is usually quite simple. Today however, I clicked random article and got this: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/J-type_asteroids” – that can be done in three clicks – Solar System => Isaac Newton => Jesus
The key is to do it in exactly 5 clicks. Some people think they win an extra gold star by doing it in 3 or 4.
Murray City
Murray, Kentucky
Mormonism
Jesus
Screw that, I get two gold stars.
Balloons
France
Christianity
Jesus
You can always do it in three clicks: [1]Look for “501(c)(3) tax-deductible nonprofit charity.” at the bottom of the page and click on “charity.” [2]Click on “religious,” near the end of the first paragraph. [3]Scroll down to “Christianity is centered on the life and teachings of” and click on “Jesus of Nazareth”.
I created a game based on this concept where players earn points and badges for creating and solving puzzles. Come check it out
Start: Mari Language
1. Cyrillic Alphabet
2. St. Cyril
3. Missionary
4. Christian
5. You-know-who
(you’re one of the top hits, even when you search for “SIX clicks to Jesus”)
Okay seriously.
I did not invent this game. I have no idea why I’m THE source site for it and I’m tired of people pimping their Wiki game sites and their results on this 2 1/2 year old blog entry.
I’m closing comments on it and suggest finding other places — actual Wiki game sites, for example — to play and post your answers.
