FO: Sherbet Cozy
Here’s my first coffee cup cozy:
I call it the Sherbet Cozy b/c of the color of this yarn. I don’t know what yarn it is. I got it before Holden was born and the label disappeared probably at the same time. It’s a DK weight wool. If you’re going to try this pattern, I recommend a worsted weight on the same size needles. I haven’t tried it on a up yet so I’m not sure it’ll fit. I worked in a lot of ribbing so it would fit but I still think that if you want to keep a nice thick layer of fabric between you & the cup, you’ll want to try a thicker yarn. Next time, I’m going to. This was my test run.
As you can tell by my directions, I’m really particular.
Sherbet cozy pattern:
CO 42 sts on size 6 dpns.
Work in 1×1 rib until you’re bored*.
K one round. Increase to 48 sts on next round. K a third round.
Work in 2×2 rib until you’re bored*.
Work 4 rounds seed stitch.
Work in 3×3 rib until you think it’s tall enough* and BO.
(* about seven rounds)
Next one I make may be a gift, if it turns out nice enough.

VERY cute and great idea! Since I don’t knit, I may have to change it over to a crochet pattern, if you don’t mind.

Totally cute. I dig the sherbet yarn.

I really want to learn how to do the knitting and crocheting thing, but it seems so hard to me. (Mainly because I don’t know how.) But you know, making a coffee cozy seems like an awesome way to start. How cute!
