Kitchen Aid Mixers dirt cheap

Ever wanted one of these?

mixer

It’s today’s Amazon Gold Box Deal = $185 (regular Amazon price is $240; I paid about $185 for mine)

These things never go on sale so a Gold Box Deal or a coupon is the best you can do. This is as low a price as I’ve seen. Mine is “mango” but this one is white. White! Anyone could use a white one!

And let me tell you, I don’t know how I got along without this mixer. I use it for most meals and all baking. It makes things much smoother than a hand mixer and you can set it to mix and just walk away. You can refrigerate the bowl to make whipped cream from scratch or let it keep mashed potatoes hot while you finish making dinner.

Buy it for yourself or someone else for Mothers Day. I believe mine was an anniversary gift.

I can’t recommend it enough and this is a great price. So I had to blog it.

  • Do you think it’s wrong to buy your mother a mixer (this mixer) for Mother’s Day?

She wants it but I think this is sort of sexist. And I figured you’d know if it’s a nice gesture or me being rude.

  • She will love it. If you know the gift is something a person wants, you can’t go wrong. If it’s something like this mixer or a Dyson vacuum or something, what you’re giving isn’t a tool that assigns sex roles to chores. You’re getting a tool that makes necessary work easier and possibly downright enjoyable.

    Get it! Get it!

  • Ordered. And I signed up for my free month trial of Amazon Prime. Free shipping!

And I figure, I’ll show it to her before opening it and if it isn’t what she wanted I can return it. But yeah, this is usually hella expensive so even if it isn’t what she wants, I needed to buy it and then ask her.

  • FYI: Amazon Prime ships through DHL. Might not be a problem for you in the city but DHL is a nightmare for most places.

  • I would almost be mad about this price, but I love the darn thing so much, I can only work up a slight irritation at having paid significantly more than the above.

  • We get our Amazon Prime shipments from UPS.

  • I can’t rave enough about mine – I’ve had it for years and it still works just as perfectly as the day I got it. I do need to replace my whip attachment though because someone dropped a small pyrex bowl into the mixing bowl while it was mixing *coughs* (it wasn’t me – ’twas the hubby!)

  • Cool, E. I’d only ever heard people who had DHL doing it & they were canceling it b/c the stuff took longer to get there than it did w/ free super saver shipping. It’s probably about where you live more than anything. Of course our DHL stuff eventually is dropped off at the PO and they have to deliver it (which makes me wonder, what is the point of DHL?).

  • I always secretly wanted one, but stayed away b/c it looks like a pain to clean and I’m all about quick and easy in the kitchen.

I got the Cuisinart mixer thing and there’s so many flocking parts to clean, I stopped using it.

Is the Kitchen Aid mixer similar?

  • I clean it as I go since I use it for a few things at once (example: cake batter then frosting). The bowl comes really clean with just a sponge wipe and the attachments are easy to change and remove. The dough hook and paddle have an enamel coat that comes clean and the wire whisk is as tricky as any whisk but I’ve not had any problems. You can buy an extra bowl or attachments if you don’t feel like cleaning it as you go.

  • I love mine, and I got it on sale at Kohl’s several years ago with some extras. Mine’s black, but I really wanted the red one. LOVE IT. I don’t use it often enough, though, according to my family! (pizza dough is great with it, though!)

  • Hey yeah, just an Amazon.com Prime update… my shipment is coming via UPS. I’m saved from the crazy shit I’d deal with at DHL. I hate DHL. I was so worried until I got the shipment e-mail today.

  • Excellent :) Maybe Amazon wised up after all teh complaints they were getting about DHL (look at the Amazon Prime forums).
