Zoe & Hawk went to see Iron Man today. This is not to say that I am uninterested in Iron Man (I am in fact quite interested) but I think Holden is too young for a theater movie yet. I might test him with Wall-E but I’m not sure. I doubt he’ll sit for it.
So anyway…
Hawk said she liked it. He said she got a little bored & wiggly at times but overall she wasn’t drastically upset by anything. I don’t think she’ll be going to see Batman but I already said that I am going to see Batman and if I have to go alone and enjoy Christian Bale in all his batsuited glory by myself, I shall.
So what did Holden & I do while Mademoiselle and Herr Vater were at the movie? We shopped and shopped and shopped. I got them stuff at Gymboree, Old Navy & got myself some stuff at Eddie Bauer. May I just say at this point that I purchased my first pair of size 16 pants since 1997? I also wore my new Eddie Bauer dress in a size XL (not XXL) when I went out today. I am completely and totally awesome.
Anyway, I received some distressing news while at the mall today: our Disney Store is closing. Gasp! When we went to Disney World in September, Zoe was disappointed it wasn’t the Disney Store. Anyway, everything is like 10% off right now and I stocked up on a few things for gifts. I got Zoe a Lady pillow and a Marie pillow and Holden got an alien pillow and I said “Aunt Fredlet would love this.” I was going to grab him the Stitch pillow & forgot so we’ll have to go back for that, seeing as his main nickname is “Stitch” after “mi buki.”
So I don’t know what I’m going to do to convince Zoe to go to the mall now. I got her to accompany me to Ulta tonight b/c she got to pick out her own lip gloss (Lip Smacker in vanilla). I got nail polish and forewent all of the lip gloss. Who’s proud?
I also had to get a bunch of new bras. All of my bras (except a couple that are, let’s say “impractical”) are older than Holden. So since I had a coupon and Lane Bryant got in a bunch of cute summer-colored gear, I got a bunch of them. Practical and pretty. Here’s the link. Petal pink, blue dot and bright floral. And then this one in white. I also got two sleep shirts, one a bright blue and the other warm stripes. I’ve been looking for a sleep shirt for a long time and they finally got some in.
Well, since I only had lunch today (TGI Fridays), I think I’m going to find some kind of snack. Nom on.

I am giddily excited about this summer’s movie season. I didn’t think Iron Man was going to interest me, but RDJ looks pretty cool in the ads, so I think I’ll brave it. But I’m so definitely in for Batman and Wall-E. And – surprisingly – Indiana Jones.

Man, everyone is raving about Iron Man. I don’t get it. But it has RDJ in it, so maybe it’ll be worth a shot…
