Charity Navigator
29-Day Giving Challenge day 5
Are you wary about giving your hard-earned money to just any yahoo who calls himself a charity? Me too. I’m highly suspicious of everyone. That’s why I use Charity Navigator to do my research for me.
Charity Navigator works to guide intelligent giving. Our goal is to help people give to charity with confidence. At the same time, we aim to help charities by shining lights on truly effective organizations. In doing so, we believe we can help ensure that charitable giving keeps pace with the growing need for charitable programs.
They also offer info like these Top 10 lists:
- 10 Charities Overpaying their For-Profit Fundraisers
- 10 Highly Rated Charities Relying on Private Contributions
- 10 Most Frequently Reviewed Charities
- 10 Highly Paid CEO’s at Low-Rated Charities
- 10 Charities Stockpiling Your Money
- 10 Charities in Deep Financial Trouble
You can also discover charities using their search feature. Say you want a charity that helps animals or the environment, you just click on their lists, compare the charities against their ratings, read the comments CN users have made on the charity, etc.
If you want to give, this is a great way to get educated about where to send your money.
