I took this in Zoe’s room. I’d just gotten the “come as you are” group invite and I’d dumped old photos off the camera card. I heard the kids in Zoe’s room and figured there was some kind of trouble happening. Holden already unrolled the new roll of toilet paper today so I figured he’d moved on to ripping the books off Zoe’s shelves. So I sat in her room, taking pictures of them chasing each other around and over her bed. I thought, “come as you are pic” and I snapped some. Most were fuzzy but this one was fairly sharp so I picked it.
This is why I rarely wear red or pink shirts outside, at least w/o makeup. My skin is incredibly ruddy (I’m one of the rare “reds” at the Prescriptives counter). In fact, this is a maternity shirt that still had “good wear” in it so I decided to keep wearing it. How sad. I’m going to get rid of it. Why should I wear maternity clothing just because?
Also my face is breaking out some but is actually better overall than it was last week. I usually edit out zits as best I can. The challenge here was not to do that. That’s probably the toughest thing for me to show you.
The shingles are on the back of my head, left side. There’s no pain happening but the itch is getting overwhelming. I was doing fine by rubbing my hair when I felt itchy. Now I have to scratch. Ack. But I’m done with my Valtrex so I should be good to go.
I’m also considering getting plastic surgery. Ack again (and surprise). Nothing drastic but I want rid of that double chin. I’ve had it all my life, even when I was a size 8. Although I’m losing weight the old-fashioned way, the double chin ain’t going anywhere. As I get older, it’s getting worse. And it’s only going to sag more. So I’m seriously considering a mini-lipo or something, now that we’ve finally sold the house in Erie. I haven’t investigated my options but Wynne recommended a plastic surgeon in Altoona (although I may go to Pittsburgh if I can).
So I “came as I was,” kids pulling on my leg as I snapped, pink shirt, ruddy complexion, double chin and all. And if those superficial things are my only complaints, I think I’m pretty well off.
BTW: I took this as I was going out on Tuesday. Here’s me all made up. I went for a 1950s style look:

Natural or made up, you are a beautiful woman. We are off to Tennessee Sunday for a week of Joshua’s family, and a lot of doing nothing but sitting in mom’s backyard watching the birds and reading. What a way to spend a week.

Hey, I’ve been working on a fifties vibe too. I’ll have to get a picture of it and post it.
