I just came back from a check-up. The doc says all seems well. They’re running some blood tests and setting me up with an appointment with the allergist. Apparently the guy in Altoona is very good. Anyway, the doc made a couple more suggestions, like carrying Benadryl (the epi-pen Hawk wrote me a script for was my idea, and a brilliant one if I must say so myself) and possibly getting a Medic Alert tag.
I don’t want to wear a dog tag nor do I care much for bracelets (I hate watches in particular). I know I’ve seen cute medic alert jewelry in the past. I haven’t visited Etsy yet but I’m on my way there next for engraveable charms. Thing is, every piece of medical alert jewelry I’ve seen so far has one common feature, a feature that allows it to be recognized by medical personnel:

ACK!
ETA: I found a cute piece of jewelry. Snakes optional!

Do they have dragons? Those are sorta snakelike, but way cooler. I had an awesome dragon ring once, but I lost the stone and could never find a good replacement.

I agree on the ugliness of medic alert jewelry. I have one for my diabetes and I don’t wear it. It’s ugly, bulky and just…ugly. LOL!

Hatin’ on my beloved snakes again… lol:)
On the serious, I’m glad you’re doing well. That chick’s stuff is adorable. I have a sudden need to take my asthma more seriously.

What about a cute wrist tattoo? I’m serious.

Kathryn, I’m strongly considering that. It won’t feel like anything and I can cover it up with jewelry if I want to but it will always be with me. Maybe Wynne’s tattoo party has a higher purpose

I agree with you all, any Medical Alert can be very un-stylish and bulky, a blatant sign that you are at risk. Throughout my journey for more attractive medical alert jewelry I came across American Medical ID, so I thought I would pass that knowledge along:

I know wearing a medical alert is not fun and can be quite unattractive, but AMID offers so many personalized options that hopefully wearing the jewelry will become less of a chore.

I know I should probably consider that comment search-spam but the stuff at the site actually is cute.
