I was supposed to hear from some producer for the Tyra Banks Show on Friday. By the time six o’clock rolled around, I wasn’t optimistic that I was going to get a call. I e-mailed the guy I spoke with on Thursday and said, “Look dude, I’m going to be out all weekend so if someone was planning to call then, here’s my cell number.”

And the weekend came and went.

So I thought, “Maybe some intern was supposed to book the tickets for the plane or train or whatever and dropped the ball.” So I wait all morning. Nothing. I go to get Nina and don’t miss any calls. By 2:30, I e-mailed the guy I spoke to and said, “Look dude, my husband’s changed his work schedule and needs to change it back if the show is off. I just need someone to tell me what’s going on either way.” By 3 o’clock I decide to get a shower. At 3:15 I find out the cordless phone is dead, possibly b/c it fell down the stairs at one point. No matter. We have three other phones in the house.

By 4:15, my shoes are here and I call the guy. I get his voicemail. I’m like, “Look dude, I e-mailed you to tell you that no one’s contacted me and now you’re not in touch either. I just need to know if I need to pack a bag or make other plans for tomorrow.”

Surely if I’m traveling tomorrow, I would have had a FedEx by 5 p.m. And I didn’t.

So I’m assuming the show is off and with our schedules, I told them that tomorrow and Wednesday were ideal but that we were otherwise not very flexible. So I don’t know what happened or why everyone’s suddenly dropped off the face of the earth. If the deal is off, it’s kind of passive-aggressive to ignore me. It certainly won’t break my heart but it certainly does piss me off to be told that I’ll be contacted and instead be ignored.

We’ll see what happens tomorrow, if anything. Hawk’s going in to work, since it’s his half-day. If we haven’t heard anything by noon, I assume it’s off.

I have however declared Wednesday “Fierce Day” and I intend to do something “fierce” no matter where I am. Any ideas?
