Lyric poem meme

Erin posted this at TC & this is my reply there. I thought it was funny & that you might want to try it too so here ’tis:

Put your music player on shuffle, and write down the first line of the first twenty songs. Post the poem that results. The first line of the twenty-first song is the title.

This was too tempting ;) I put the artists at the end, in case anyone thought “that sounds familiar.” And my third stanza rhymes! I just had to sit and laugh at that for a minute.

MAC, L’Oréal, yep, ’cause I’m worth it.
The unknown distance to the great beyond,
we’re talking away.
Take all the goods from all the bads.

Jenny, Jenny, who can I turn to?
Little less conversation, a little more action.
I know I’ve got nothing to say,
traveling in a fried-out combie.

Christ, you know I love you.
I wanna kiss you in Paris.
I see a red door and I want it painted black.
Sweet dreams are made of this.

We spotted the ocean at the head of the trail,
toe to toe.
Nothing that you say will release you.
Run and tell all of the angels.

You have some impressively eclectic music taste going on there.

Heh. I thought it was pretty similar. I was like, “Well there’s not much variety but it makes a decent poem.” It would have been more diverse but this was my playlist, not our entire music collection (which would have included Backyardigans & Christmas music among other things ;) )
