A selection of some entries that amused or intrigued me on reread from the first half of 2008:
Hellen Buttigieg is my heroine — a post about organizing that won me a $100 Container Store gift card
The thongs she carried — Zoe wants to take a pair of my underwear out on the town
Welcome to the Justice League — The first appearance of the Batgirl outfit
Truthiness in self-portraiture — a Sweetney challenge accepted
Pinchy pinchy — a defective adult toy
Lovecraft + Redenbacher = crazy delicious — a piece of popcorn that looks like the Great Cthulu
Gas — my idiot brother in law wants to know what one should do for “gas in [one's] stomach”
Not for the squeamish — I have a sick day
The Two Gs (a Sexography entry) — those being “gay” and “groper”
Someone to blame (a Sexography entry) — you’re not getting laid, married women, b/c you’re fat… according to an article
Help a sister help a sister — open letter to Hillary Clinton
Twirl (a Sexography entry) — includes pictures of me in HS majorette uniform
Combining the This and the That (a Sexography entry) — swinging
Madman and the Parrot Sketch (a Sexography entry) — a love gift
Girls & gays night — OMG I go out!
Needles and pins — tattoo party
Bad Girls — my early sex ed
Enjoy the Silence — a day in the life
I bet your Friday night wasn’t as exciting as mine — and on my half birthday, I near ’bout died. No, seriously
ETA: And here’s the second half of the year:
Half a weekend of excitement — two parties
Why so serious? — me grumping about not seeing The Dark Knight on opening night
Maybe I’m amazed — Erin’s wedding
Velvet blonde — dear sweet Jesus, I’m a blonde
Bridget Maiden-Married — first adventures in being the parent of a school-age child
The scream — a you-know-what in my yard
The dog saga: Why so Sirius?, Dogcitement, One week, Aftermath and a giant spider
Hard-hearted harbinger of haggis — I out my most personal information
Letting one rip — a frank discussion about spouses, gas and poop
He who must be named is named Harry
Hawk’s hospital adventures (a light selection of entries): Heal thyself, Sunday morning, Monday morning.
Although it begins and ends with Donovan Patton and Steve Burns — lust among the mothers of preschoolers
The skating party — I ice skate for the first time since 1985
The coat story — someone steals Zoe’s coat and then returns it
Shits & giggles — preparing for a colonoscopy
I feel like we’re getting back on track, following Hawk’s illness and the resultant upheaval. Plus, once they’re back on regular schedule, Holden is going to day care a few days a week these days so I will have more time for me in 2009. Maybe my blogging will get back on track as well. Thanks for hanging in there & happy new year.
